Scale & Polish
As an average human being, your teeth will never be perfectly shaped and positioned, which makes it difficult to clean your teeth thoroughly and efficiently. There will always seem to be that one stubborn spot where you just can’t get to, perhaps right at the back or an area where food manages to become trapped in the most awkward and inaccessible of places.
These are the kind of areas where plaque (a sticky film of bacteria) can build up gradually, and if not cleaned can harden to tartar, which is much more difficult to remove.
Scale and polish is a dental procedure to maintain your oral hygiene and is often referred to as ‘dental cleaning’. A scale procedure includes using the latest ultrasound device to assist remove plaque and tartar in those hard to reach places, to prevent cavities, inflammation of the gums and even gum disease.
