Uncovering the magic on Invisalign in Sheffield
Keeping Sheffield smiling
Here at Dee Kay Dental, we are not your archetypal dental practice. We pride ourselves on putting the needs of each of our individual patients at the forefront of each service we provide. We understand that, just as no two sets of teeth are the same, no two sets of treatment should be. Rather, we tailor our services to fit the individual needs and requirements of those who are seeking them. It is this philosophy which has helped us gain respect as one of the most trusted providers of Invisalign in Sheffield.
Here at Dee Kay Dental, we understand the pressures which are felt by those who have teeth which are misaligned or crooked. Each year, thousands of people are seeking treatment to achieve straighter and healthier looking teeth. However, there are still a large number of us who are dissuaded from seeking treatment due to misconceptions of how orthodontic treatments will negatively impact our outward appearance. Here at Dee Kay Dental however, we are proud to offer the most advanced alignment system in the world, Invisalign in Sheffield, which affords its users the ability to simultaneously undergo essential dental realignment, whilst keeping treatment unobtrusive.
The Invisalign alignment system is a revolutionary new method of orthodontics which negates the need for conventional tools such as fused brackets and invasive metal wires, by replacing them with a removable, plastic retainer. This retainer is constructed from a patented plastic known as SmartTrack – which is utilised for its uniquely durable, yet malleable nature. When worn, the retainer uses carefully placed pressure points to gradually push a patient’s teeth back into their correct specifications. These specifications are established, in detail, prior to beginning treatment from us here at Dee Kay Dental. One of the main reasons for Invisalign’s vast popularity in contrast to other, more traditional methods of dental alignment, is that as each retainer is custom fitted around the contours of each patient’s mouth, when it is worn, it fits so snugly over their teeth that it becomes practically invisible. This may explain why the procedure is so vastly popular within the demographic of teenagers and young adults, as they can directly undergo orthodontic work, without attracting any unwanted scrutiny from their peers or colleagues.
Clearly on to something
Invisalign was the brainchild of Stanford University graduate Zia Chishti, who, despite having no formal training within the field of orthodontics, revolutionised it forever in 1997 when he first came up with the idea of Invisalign. After witnessing at first-hand the negative effects of orthodontic aligners at that time, Chishti took it upon himself to do something about it, and thus teamed up with fellow graduate Kelsey Wirth, and in 2001 they launched the first Invisalign retainer. Since that time, Invisalign in Sheffield has helped bring a smile to the faces of many happy customers, and is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.
