Worried that having clear braces will be a long process? A brief treatment guide from Dee Kay Dental
When it comes to cosmetic treatments, it is always best to know exactly what to expect.
That way, you can feel more confident going into the procedure and, more importantly, you can know if something has gone wrong.
The same is true for cosmetic dental treatments; many patients who visit a cosmetic dental team ask to see a photographic portfolio before deciding if the treatment they are seeking is right for them, and rightly so! This allows the patient to get a clear idea of how their chosen treatment will improve their smile, while also assessing the skill of the dentist that they have chosen.
But what about cosmetic braces? While no two results are the same, it is always useful to know what to expect when you decide to have a cosmetic aligner fitted, to prepare yourself for what is to come over the next few months.
When you come to Dee Kay Dental for cosmetic braces, you will be relieved to know that our team has helped thousands of patients achieve a more aesthetically pleasing smile with the use of both invisible and clear braces in Sheffield. We are very knowledgeable about each step of the realignment procedure, so when you choose our team to help you get your dream smile, you can feel confident that you have chosen the best!
But what is the step by step guide to the most popular clear braces in Sheffield? Our team provides a brief guide to Invisalign below.
The consultation
Deciding to undertake clear braces in Sheffield is a big step, which will require an initial consultation with our team. During this meeting, our dentists will assess the condition of your oral health and discuss with you whether or not you are suitable for treatment with Invisalign.
As most people are suited to have them, try not to worry too much about this stage; if our team decides that you require more complex treatment, we will be able to assist you with that procedure too!
If all is good, our team will take a 3D scan of your mouth to help make the custom-fitted aligners and to show you how your teeth will move during the treatment.
The fitting
After a few weeks, you will need to come back to our surgery in Sheffield to have your first set of aligners fitted.
Although Invisalign braces are fully removable, it is important for you and our team that they fit correctly. And then your journey begins!
The treatment
During the wearing process, you will need to wear Invisalign for 22 hours per day and change the aligners about every 2 weeks. You will need to come into our surgery for check-ups about once every 6-8 weeks, so we can assess your progress and make sure your teeth are moving as planned.
Aftercare
Once you have your straighter smile (on average in about 6 months), the aligners will be removed but you will need a retainer. This is to prevent your newly moved teeth from relapsing.
